Preventing basketball-related injuries and complaints

Basketball is a team sport requiring speed and excellent physical agility. Yet dangers lurking in both training and matches can sometimes bring your enjoyment of the game to a screeching halt: Knee problems or ankle pain, sprains and injuries like tears to ankle ligaments, muscle fibers or ACLs are not uncommon among the team players. Constant jumping puts a great deal of stress on the feet, knees and back. When landing, your body weight is multiplied eightfold — an extreme challenge for the body, especially for bigger players. Sensorimotor foot orthoses help by strengthening your foot muscles and preventing compromising movements, such as twisting, which can cause sprains. They can help you maintain correct joint positioning and ensure that you jump and land back down again safely.
