Fallen arches (planovalgus) / valgus foot (pes valgus) / splay foot (pes transversoplanus)

Many people have fallen arches, pes valgus or pes transversoplanus and never have any pain to speak of. Nevertheless, what some people do not realize is that knee pain or Achilles tendon (or even back) problems may be directly related to their foot malalignment.

So, if patients are experiencing pain in their feet or at other joint levels, it is worth taking a look at their foot position and the status of the muscles stabilizing their arch.

Sometimes a PROPRIO® foot orthosis can help the body help itself by stimulating the muscle groups in the ankle, thereby improving ability to align the foot and keep the body upright. Patients often even report relief to painful structures located as far up as the back and neck.
