Gait uncertainty

Gait uncertainty frequently accompanies neurological diseases and may have various causes. What is common to all of these is that the central nervous system cannot adequately regulate movement. Because the muscles are not properly controlled, many sufferers feel uncertain when walking and consequently scrape the ground with their toes. Often, PROPRIO® foot orthoses can help to stabilize their gait pattern and prevent stumbling. First, however, the treating physiotherapist must establish the therapeutic goal with the patient and then have the PROPRIO® foot orthosis modified accordingly. Depending on the disease, muscular stimulation varies.
